Prince Daemon Targaryen is Rhaenyra Targaryen's uncle and second husband. A seasoned warrior, he was a major commander of the Black Army in the early days of A Dance with the Dragon. The dragon he rides is named Kraxhu.
Daemon was the second son of Prince Baelon and brother of Viserys I. He married Rhea Royce, Countess of Runestone City in 97 AC, and this unhappy marriage has always bound him. After Lady Rhea's death, he married Lanar Velaryon and had twin daughters named Baela and Rhaena. After Lanarr died, he married his niece, Rhaenyra, and bore two kings, Aegon the Dragonbane and Viserys, and a stillborn daughter named Visenya.
When Daemon was the Commander of the City Watch, he was called "Prince of the City" by his friends, and "Lord Flea Bottom" by commoners.
